The impacts of climate change on the hydrological cycle call for a strategic approach to strengthen the resilience of Italy’s water infrastructure.
The Blue Book 2024, starting from the data gathered during one of the most severe drought periods in recent Italian climatological history (2022–2023), offers its usual in-depth snapshot of the sector. It explores the latest developments in governance, regulation, and investment—placing a strong focus on sectoral needs and, for the first time, also addressing actions and challenges across the broader water supply chain.

This fourteenth edition was developed in collaboration with Istat, Enea, Anbi, and the seven River Basin District Authorities.
