GREEN BOOK 2025

Now in its twelfth edition, the Green Book is the complete monograph of the urban waste sector in Italy. The document contains the usual snapshot of the sector in which the reference regulatory context, local governance and management aspects, the results achieved by operators in terms of economics and assets, and the expenditure incurred by end users receiving the urban hygiene service are analyzed. Furthermore, through the examination of the tender documentation, the assignments of these services were analyzed. The 2025 edition, to which ISPRA contributed and with the collaboration of CEWEP and AIRU, also sees a focus on the theme of the recycling chains and the energy recovery of the unsorted fraction, fundamental elements to guarantee the closure of the waste cycle.
